I am pleased to be the owner of Symmetry Therapeutics located in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. One of the things I love about being a registered massage therapist is the great feeling I get when clients tell me I have helped them feel better or recover from injury. I chose to become a registered massage therapist in an interesting manner.
I enjoyed seven years as a Journeyman Automotive Technician with Mainway Mazda. During the last two years of that time I found myself struggling with a major injury to my lower back and legs. After trying numerous treatment styles, I found two massage therapists who were able to really help me get my symptoms under control and begin the healing process. Being unable to cope with the physical stress, automotive repair acted as a catalyst to my career change.
I chose to enroll in the Mckay Massage and Hydrotherapy Program as a way for me to also better understand my injuries. After 2200 hours of arduous training, I graduated with honors in December 2005 while earning the massage professionalism and massage clinical proficiency awards. Having mastered the Massage Therapy Association of Saskatchewan (MTAS) Qualification exam I opened Wickstrom Massage Therapy on February 15, 2006 in Saskatoon. My practice remained at Wedge Road Medi Centre for three years until the doctors closed the office. At this time I relocated into a home based business. One year later I started renovations for Symmetry Therapeutics, and opened for clients February 1, 2010.
Educational knowledge and personal experience gives me an understanding of chronic pain.
Educational knowledge and personal experience gives me an understanding of chronic pain. Currently my treatment style is Myofascial Release with a background in Swedish massage. These styles allow me to work with the conditions and symptoms such as Fibromyalgia, general chronic pain, Sciatica, abdominal cramps, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and headaches, to name a few.
